Residential Escrow Assistant

Patel Law Group powered by Fidelity National Title has an immediate need for a reliable and organized Residential Escrow Assistant to join its growing title team. Our residential title team continues to grow, and the team is looking for an escrow assistant who wants to contribute to our team and be a critical part of the team’s advancement into a dynamic, successful, profitable, and satisfying place to work. We are committed to the growth, development, and success of our business developers, escrow officers and assistants—we believe that a key part of that commitment is to cultivate and maintain a culture built on transparency and honest communication in the workplace. We foster that culture every day, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each title team member meets one-on-one with the branch manager and/or supervisor on a regular and routine basis to reinforce that commitment and to help us learn and grow as leaders, followers, and as a team. We organize and host regular company-wide events to build on that commitment to work/life balance and a healthy culture across the entire company: birthday and work anniversary recognition, company-wide social outings (e.g., Top Golf, Rangers Game, Sidecar Social, Pinstack Bowling, etc.), department lunches and happy hours, and an end of year holiday celebration dinner. In addition, we host a golf tournament every year benefiting a local charity as a way to give back to the community we live, work and play in. While work/life balance is engrained and intertwined with our company’s culture, the work in the title team is challenging and sometimes requires additional effort from our escrow officers and assistants to match the customary fast-paced flow of client files. We are looking for a candidate who is willing to stick it out alongside our escrow officers to provide support throughout these normal ups and downs in workflow. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and organizational skills, works well under pressure, has excellent communication skills, and can work independently on matters related to residential title insurance and escrow work. The candidate will possess at least one year of experience working in a title company or a similar position. The Residential Escrow Assistant’s day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Maintain customer files by organizing and filing documents, and locating specific files for Escrow Officers upon request
  • Create and edit documents and correspondence as requested by Escrow Officers
  • Prepare document forms by filling necessary client information – this includes title documents, settlement statements, and other legal documents
  • Create and maintain escrow logs to show client information and progress on each escrow case
  • Verify customer information through research and direct questioning to ensure accuracy of escrow documents
  • Answer questions about records and files
  • Check recordables for any errors. Compare with Lender Closing Instructions. Scan and record or mail away if the county does not e-record
  • File SoS UCC Statements if applicable
  • Confirm SoftPro has good forwarding addresses for Buyer and Seller, that the Seller has their SSN in the proper box, and the 1099 Seller Proceeds are checked appropriately
  • Create Policy Instructions and Package to send to the Policy Department
  • Correct any requested corrections from the Lender or requested by Policy Dept (post-close)
  • Prepare Closing Packages for the Buyer and Seller, and email to respective parties
  • Send missing policies when contacted by Lenders who never received theirs from the Policy Dept
  • Record Deed on properties for Attorneys and Clients
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
